The dissertation presents the results of historic and scientific analysis of the biochemistry formation process at the Kharkiv university from the middle of the XIX-th century up to the 70-th years of the XX-th century. In particular, the activity of scientists O.Danilevsky, V.Gulevich and another biochemists that worked in the II-nd half of the XIX-th cent. and in the beginning of the XX-th cent., the activity of O.Nagorny and I.Bulankin and the development of onthobiochemistry and protein chemistry is considered. The outstanding role of the Kharkiv university in the process of Ukrainian biochemical science development is shown.
