The work is devoted to defining the peculiarities of climacteric syndrome course in women with natural and surgical menopause, accounting their thyroid status. Comparative analysis of urogenital and metabolic disturbances depending on menopause etiology and functional activity of the thyroid gland was performed.
Complex investigation of 170 women was carried out; the main group was made of 100 patients with surgical menopause; groups of comparison included 70 women with natural menopause: the 1-st group comprised 40 women with normal thyroid status and the 2-nd - 30 women with trustworthily diagnosed subclinical hypothyrosis during menopause. Women with surgical climacterium and diagnosed subclinical hypothyrosis were found to develop metabolic syndrome characterized with early formation of metabolic disturbances associated with increased body mass index, development of obesity of abdominal type, lipoproteidemia and progressing atrophic changes of the urogenital tract.
Complex treatment of climacteric syndrome was developed to decrease the severity of the course of urogenital and metabolic complications in women with surgical menopause. The indispensible condition of the improved method of HRT was administration of long-term HRT in combination with preparations compensating thyroid hormones deficit (L-thyroxine) independently of the TSH concentration increase.
